           In this post I will provide Russia, South Korea and Australia 5g network upgrade details.

In Russia two big mobile network operators MegaFon and rostelecom join hand to develop 5g network. So that they can build massive 5g next generation wifi network and avoid all kind of competition to each other. Russian mainly aim on eMBB enhanced mobile broadband to get high speed mobile internet, fixed wireless access like router hub hotspot and also concentrate on Internet of Thing development. Commonwealth Independent States has millions number of mobile subscribers. So 5g have immense scope in Russia. To get full benefit of 5g you should have 5g smartphone. 5g will unlock new scope for smartphone and electronics field.

 MTS mobile network operator of Russia carried out test on 5g network during fifa world cup. This test includes hd video call, hd VR video streaming and gaming. MegaFon and rostelecom plan to build 5g network on 3.4 to3.6GHz and 26GHz. Megaphone along with Huawei and Qualcomm demonstrate 5g trial which achieve 1Gbps speed on mobile internet network. It has used Mimo 4T4R technology on 1800NHz band and 2.6GHz band for trial. They use cell with high caliber 5g antenna technology.

Rostelecom along with Ericsson carried out 5g test in a museum using 3500MHz 5g spectrum. They use robot for moving and placing art work within museum at St. Petersburg, Russia. They also transferred 4k video with live streaming using VR glasses for virtual really concept classes.

Beeline and Ericsson has team up for 5g new technology development and internet of thing technology implementation for Russia. And they upgrade beeline network with massive mimo which can provide Gbps internet speed. They also work on improvement of present Lte network to advance LTE and develop product based on Narrow-band Internet of Thing.

South Korea 5g network development.

 

SK Telecom and Samsung have begun 5g rollout using 3GPP R15 NSA non standalone architecture. This use both 4g and 5g network. They carried out test on 3.5 GHz and 28GHz spectrum. They combine LTE and 5g new radio. Samsung supply necessary hardware to South Korea telecom. They also use Ericsson and Nokia for 5g hardware.

LG Uplus will start 5g next generation high speed mobile internet from February 2019. They use latest 5g antenna technology for smartphone.They are installing 5g equipment at seoul, Bucheon, Hanam, Incheon and other major cities or Korea. They team up with Forsk for cell planning 5g network site. 5g network build up many small cell to strengthen network and reduce latency.

KT Korean Telecom will start their 5g services in March 2019 called true perfect 5g or real 5g not a fake5g or fixed5g. Korean telecom make 5g demo using Samsung Intel hardware. KT also announce lab for 5g equipment infrastructure testing.

Australia 5G High Speed Network rollout.

Telstra and Ericsson partner in 5g infrastructure development within Australia. Perth, Adelaide and Canberra are getting 5g next generation mobile wireless network. In 2017 telstra made its 5g demo on millimeter wave spectrum along with Ericsson.  Test is carried out on 26GHz mmwave band. It uses high caliber antenna for fast internet speed. Telstra has upgraded more then 50 base station within Australia for 5g network. It also started building 5g network at Brisbane, gold coast, Toowoomba and more city will be added in future. Telstra also designed 5G chipset with partners Qualcomm and Ericsson.

Optus has carried out 5g new radio next generation high speed mobile communication test in april with Huawei. Optus recent test shown that its 5g devices are capable of video streaming of 8k But now he need to find another vender I think Qualcomm will be better option. Optus hope that 5g network will be available in January 2019 for Canberra, Brisbane and more cities will be added in future. Optus already started rolling out 5g and also improving its 4g network. Optus is developing new 5g field site having high caliber antenna and 5g equipment. Optus partner with techno giant like Samsung and Intel. Initially it offers 5g fixed line and then start 5g services for smartphone. Cities which get first 5g network are Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

Vodafone Australia is also in race for 5g network services. Early 2018 Vodafone and Huawei has done a test on fiveG network using non standalone 3GPP release 15 standard and sub6 GHz spectrum. Test involve data call and live hd calling and it also shown interoperatibility between 4g and 5g as call was involve both 4g and 5g devices using Huawei radio access network on 3.7GHz spectrum. This was shown to mobile world congress. Vodafone also merge drone technology with 5g network.

       5g new wave technology booms worldwide. Many countries completed their trial on 5g wireless network technology. And also started field site for 5g network like setting up antenna tower etc.  Russia, Germany, Italy, South Africa and Korea kicks off their 5g rollout. Japan 5g roll out.

 

Japan Ntt Docomo with the help of Nokia start 5g roll out in Japan. Nokia will provide hardware infrastructure like baseband unit airscale as per 3GPP 5g new radio standard to upgrade NTT docomo 4g network. Though 3ggp 5g new radio fully standardize at the end of 2018. NEC and Samsung team up for 5g system development and marketing at Japan.

Softbank group has experimental license for 5g network experiment on 28Ghhz band for Japan. It has already acquired 4Ghz and 4.5Ghz license since 2016. Softbank has started 5g network test at Tokyo Diaba district on 28Ghz frequency. They also plan 5g network for drone testing and security and transferring high definition images using drone in real time on 5g network.

KDDI along with Ericsson and Samsung carrier out 5g test on 4.5Ghz and 28Ghz band at Tokyo and some places within Japan. KDDI aims to provide 5g services during tokyo2020 Olympic and paralympic Game known as tokyo2020.

Rakuten mobile network along with Intel and Nokia carrier out 5g trial at Sendai city using base station of Nokia airscale  and 5g mobile trial platform provided by Intel. It was open the air trial carried out during November 2018. This trial include drone camera virtual reality video steaming on high definition from stadium and also transfer live steaming on 5g network. 

5G roll out in India.

 

India was behind compare to other countries for implementation of 3g and 4g network. But for 5g network Indian government company BSNL tie-up with Japanese Softbank and NTT communication for 5g implementation and internet technology development and suppose to be launched in 2020. Well ahead of other developing country. BSNL also join hand with Nokia and Cisco for 5g network infrastructure. Airtel and TCS work together for 5G Network. Reliance JIo also provide 5G network and also launch 5G mobile along with Google on 10 September, 2021. Jio work together with Google for android 5G operating system.

China 5g roll out.

 

I like to add here is china doing research on 6G network. And research is ongoing.

China mobile is taking fast steps toward 5g network installation. They have test center at Guangzhon and set up 5g new radio trial base along with Qualcomm and Zte. This is based on 3GPP 15 standard.

China Unicom 5g strategy is, they complete all necessary tests in 2018, start actual commercial 5g at some places in 2019 and in 2020 fully commercial 5g will be ready for end user.

           It also announced the schedule for its own 5G plan, including 5G networking trials in 2017/ 2018, pre-commercial application in 2019 and commercial application in 2020. China Unicom carried out test at Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing, Hongbing ma, Tianjin, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Xiong’an.  They also carried out test on Nokia, Huawei and ZTE prototype 5g labs. Their on field set up is ready for Shenzhen and shanghai.

China telecom has completed its 5g test in 2017. They perform test on 3.5GHz band at shanghai, Chengdu, Suzhou, Lanzhou and Shenzhen. They will deploy 5g infrastructure with enhanced mobile broadband along with high caliber 5g antenna.

      It is seems that more than 12000 base station will be developed in china for 5g high speed wave technology network.

USA UK CANADA 5g network rollout detail information

Detail information about Fifth generation network roll out USA, UK, Canada and t-mobile, at&t, Verizon 5g upgrade plan, bell, Telus, roger 5G services detail and O2, EE and Vodafone 5g upgradation strategy.

             Most of the carriers world wide started 5G trial alongwith 5G hardware manufacture. It seems that by 2019 limited city will have 5G network and by 2020 full commercial 5g services will be available for consumer.

                    Many country auction 5G spectrum band and many network carriers started rolling out 5G network. USA, UK, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Europe and china has already started 5G network at some places.

 

 USA Verizon, T-mobile, At&t started their 5G rollout.

 

Verizon 5G network roll out.

 

     Verizon has already started home internet 5g. This is available on few cities like Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Houston and Sacramento. This service is already started from 1 October 2018. And Verizon add more states of America in 2019 onward. Infact Verizon and Samsung are partners in 5g mobile launch for USA. Verizon has annonced two 5g smartphone in 2018, one from Motorola and Samsung. Verizon will introduce 5g hotspot next year.

 

At&t 5G smartphone and 5G NR network introduction and development.

 

          At&t has started 5g network testing since February 2018. At&t has tested 5g network at Raleigh, Oklahoma City, Charlotte, Atlanta, Waco, and Dallas. At&t will launch next generation 5g network at Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Bridgeport, Connecticut, Buffalo, New York, Chicago, Fresno, Greenville, South Carolina, Hartford, Connecticut, Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Louisville, Memphis, Nashville, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, Pittsburgh, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Sacramento, California. At&t successfully tested fixed 5G and airgig at many citis. At&t also offers fiber high speed connection.

         At&t use millimeter wave spectrum where demand users are high or high network traffic expected and other places low band spectrum. So all the time their network remains strong and provide 5g high speed. Cradlepoint 5g router is available on at&t network. At&t start its 5g commercial services on 21 December offer netgear hotspot price 500 dollar and 15GB data.

T-mobile 5G installation and upgradation.

            T-mobile first offer 5g network at New York, Los Angeles, Dallas and Las Vegas and then expand it to 30 more big cities of USA. T-mobile build 5g network on millimeter wave band as well as law spectrum band 600Mhz which is supported on LTE. T-mobile also install 25000 small cell which help to maintain signal strength, avoid interference, keep network coverage high and make possible Gbits speed. Along with that they also improve 4g network speed.

 

Sprint 5G roll out strategy.

 

           Sprint first announces 5g smartphone launch with lg in 2019. It also sell htc 5g mobile smart hub. Sprint also in talk with Samsung for 5g mobile. Sprint is merged with t-mobile. Sprint starts its 5g rollout in 9 cities. Those cities are Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston,Kansas City, Los Angeles, New York City, Phoenix, Washington, D.C.

        Sprint 5g network based on massive MIMO technology and uses super fast 2.5 Ghz spectrum. This is more versatile as it supports 4g and 5g network together. They are deploying this network along with Ericson, Nokia and Samsung.

 

Canada 5G rollout.

 

          Roger starts testing 5g network at Ottawa and Toronto along with Ericsson. Ericsson has r&d lab at Ottawa. They rollout gigabit LTE network with latest 3gpp standard MIMO technology. They tested 5g network with VR glasses and also want to use it with automated device driving.

Telus has begun test for 5g network with Huawai at Vancouver. They tested on 28GHz MMWAVE band using MIMO antenna and get 2Gbps speed initially.

Bell and Nokia had completed their 5g trail way back in 2016. But the 5g standard are not fixed it will finalize by end of 2018. They tested on 73Ghz spectrum. Bell also partner with Huawei for 5g development at Dorval, Mississauga and Toronto. Bell is active member for contributing towards 5g standard development for 3GPP and NGMN.

5G network development plan strategy for UK.

 

Vodafone UK begins its test on 5G mobile communication using 3.4Ghz band along with massive MIMO. Vodafone is working on preparing massive MIMO site use 64T64R. Vodafone team up with Nokia and Qualcomm for 5G new radio trial. They plan real test on actual site like industries, commercial offices at various location including Liverpool, London, Cardiff, Manchester, Birmingham.

O2 UK announce its 5G plan named 5G lite. O2 has also carried out Li Fi technology test. WiFi use radio wave to transmit data while LiFi use visible light from led bulb to transmit data. LiFi means Light Fidelity. O2 also installing more than 1000 small cell around London and also using fiber cable to connect data center. O2 purchase 3.4 GHz spectrum for 5G.

EE carried out live 5G test using 3.4GHz spectrum. They got 1.3Gbps speed. Though in lab test speed was 2.8Gbps. They also test on sport game and telecast live. VR video virtual reality video is one of the main features of 5G network.  EE launch 5g at this cities initially London, Leicester, Coventry, Cardiff, Newcastle, Bristol, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Sheffield, Nottingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Liverpool, Leeds.
